The County Administrative Board must have received over 20 reports regarding what is believed to be one and the same wolf.

The wolf must have moved in an area between Jönåker and Nyköping, Nävekvarn, Arnö, Oxelösund, Nynäs, Trosa, Vagnhärad, Herrsättra and further towards Järna in Stockholm County.

According to the county administrative board, the reports indicate that the wolf moves freely among vehicles and buildings and that the wolf has approached humans several times.

Wolf a few meters from a three-year-old

On several occasions, the wolf must have been only a few meters away from humans.

A report from Vagnhärad describes a wolf that stood ten meters from a three-year-old who ran out into the yard waiting for the mother to dress a sibling and they all went to preschool.

According to a report from Tystberga, the wolf passed a human just five meters away when the family tried to scare away the wolf that approached the farm's pastures with horses and cows.

On several other occasions, it is believed that the same wolf has attacked sheep.

Some sheep have been killed, others have disappeared.

According to the County Administrative Board's assessment, there is no other solution to change the wolf's behavior than to kill it.

The protection hunt is valid from 13 June and two weeks onwards.
