According to reports, the contractor Taiwan International Shipbuilding Corporation (Taiwan Shipbuilding) stated that the incident occurred during the testing process and had been ruled out in real time, without affecting the established work and subsequent testing plans.

According to the report, the "Yushan Ship" was named by Tsai Ing-wen, and is currently undergoing the installation of the deck weapon system, as well as the platform test and system adjustment.

Tsai Ing-wen presided over the naming and launching ceremony of the "Yushan Ship" in Kaohsiung on April 13.

Tsai Ing-wen said at the time that the ship would strengthen the Taiwan Navy's ability to perform missions.

The 10,000-ton-class "Yushan Ship", which is planned to be code-named "Hongyun Plan", is scheduled to be commissioned this year. It was originally planned to be delivered in June this year, and the Taiwan Navy will start the evaluation work.

"Yushan Ship" is a new type of amphibious dock transport ship that can "relieve disasters in peacetime and fight in wartime". In wartime, it can carry military equipment such as AAV-7 amphibious assault vehicles, landing craft, and Humvees to perform amphibious operations. It can be converted into a field hospital to perform humanitarian rescue.

The Taiwan military said that it will also undertake tasks such as material support for the outer islands in the future.

The flooding incident made people on the island question the capabilities of Taiwanese ships, and some Taiwanese netizens left a message to ridicule "Is it about to become a submarine?"
