The long queues at Arlanda have continued since the chaos over the weekend, where check-in and security checks took so long that too many people gathered in the building.

During the pandemic, all traffic was moved to terminal five, and in the autumn, terminal two was opened.

On Wednesday, terminal four and its three security checkpoints were also reopened, which it is hoped will alleviate the chaos.

- Everyone must pull in the same direction to solve this situation.

Now the holiday traffic is starting properly and we should not have it like last weekend where even some people missed their flights.

We will have queues this summer but not as it has worked so far, says Karl-Petter Torwaldsson.

More people need security classification

The company Swedavia, which runs Arlanda, is owned by the state and had a meeting with the Ministry of Trade and Industry last week.

There, they should have pointed out the problems around the waiting time to get staff classified.

It is estimated that 130 people are waiting to be approved.

- We can never blunt security.

There must never be any irregularities behind the inspection, because then the flight can be in danger, therefore we can not lower the safety requirements, says Karl-Petter Torwaldsson.
