On the 15th local time, the Israeli Ministry of Energy said that at a regional energy conference in Cairo, Egypt, Israel will sign a natural gas trade agreement with the European Union.

The agreement will be the first time the EU has allowed large-scale exports of Israeli gas to Europe.

The framework agreement will be signed by Israel, the EU and Egypt.

Officials at the meeting said they hoped Israeli gas would be liquefied in Egypt and shipped to northern European markets.
