In China, the case of women being gang assaulted by men in a restaurant is spreading all over the place.

The incident occurred on the morning of the 10th.

Seven men brutally beaten four women at a restaurant in Tangshan, Hebei Province.

When a man touched a woman's body and the woman refused and pushed her away, a group of men rushed in and beat the women mercilessly.

The beatings continued outside the restaurant, and two of the women suffered serious injuries to their faces.

The assault scene was captured on CCTV at the restaurant, and after the video was released on social media, China was turned upside down.

Voices of anger spread from "How can you assault a woman like that" to "What were other men around you doing without stopping them?"

Controversy over 'Boy London' T-shirt worn by the perpetrator...

"gangster uniform"

The anger of the Chinese has even turned to a clothing brand.

One in seven male perpetrators was wearing British clothing brand 'BOY LONDON'.

Boy London started out as a punk fashion and was launched in 1976.

It is said that it entered China in 1997.

The men's clothes in the video are engraved with a large eagle, the symbol of Boy London, and the word 'BOY'.

Chinese netizens even brought up past events.

Three years ago, public security in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, cleared up gangs, and it was said that some of the gangsters arrested at the time were wearing Boy London T-shirts.

By linking these two incidents, netizens called the Boy London T-shirt 'a gangster's uniform' and a 'gangster uniform'.

Some netizens referred to the restaurant where the incident occurred as a meat restaurant and called it a 'meat restaurant battle uniform'.

Netizens demanded an apology from Boy London, saying, "We need to reflect on why people who commit violent crimes like this brand" and "There is a problem with the design."

One netizen sarcastically said, "If you wear this outfit, your fighting power will increase."

Even a post appeared on Chinese social media stating, 'Avoid people dressed like this.'

It is "a man with short hair, a round body, a gold necklace around his neck, wearing a Boy London T-shirt, a tattoo on his body, an Hermes belt and carrying a handbag, in shorts or skinny jeans".

Boy London returns one after another…

Tears were shed during live sales

The criticism did not end verbally or in writing.

This led to a drop in sales in Boy London.

Chinese media reported that Boy London clothing purchased from online shopping malls has been returned after the Tangshan assault.

Dissatisfaction with Boy London was also expressed in Live Commerce, which sells products through online live broadcasting.

Netizens flocked to the live broadcast and posted comments such as 'shroud (壽衣)', 'bad style', and 'don't sell', the clothes worn by the dead.

Eventually, the host had to shed tears during the broadcast.

Violent #MeToo, "I was also hit" everywhere...

The response of public security is also on the board

Of course, among Chinese netizens, there are many people who say, 'What's wrong with the clothes?'

It is the purpose of 'the men who exercised violence should be punished, but clothing manufacturers should not be harmed' and 'we should look at the case calmly and objectively'.

However, the aftermath of this incident is not expected to be formidable.

The shocking video of the assault has been exposed nakedly, and even state-run media such as the People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Communist Party of China, are calling for the eradication of violence every day.

There are also many voices condemning traditional male violence against women by linking them to gender issues and feminism.

It's like pouring oil on a fire.

Chinese stars such as movie star Cheng Rong (Jung Ryong) have joined the criticism, and online reports of 'I am also a victim of violence' are exploding like a flood of water.

In this case, the response of the public security was also raised, such as dispatching four hours after the report was received.

A significant number of additional reports of violent crime were that the police did not properly handle the case.

Tangshan city public security authorities quickly arrested seven male perpetrators and even held a large-scale crime-fighting contest, but it is unclear whether the Chinese people's anger and anxiety will be quelled.

The Chinese authorities are struggling to respond ahead of the party congress where President Xi Jinping will be elected for a third term this fall.
