According to Minister of Finance Mikael Damberg (S), the government's goal has been to reach a broad agreement.

- We had hoped that it would work.

We had discussions in the pension group and then various proposals have been discussed.

We changed our proposal so that more parties could participate, says Damberg.

He is critical of the opposition's pension proposal.

- Then I want to say that there is quite a big difference.

With our proposal, almost one million people will receive an improved guarantee pension.

- For the opposition's proposal to reach a level then this housing supplement is required, but only 300,000 people receive it.

There is quite a big difference in costs, this year alone there is a SEK 2.4 billion difference between our proposals, where ours is much larger.

M: Give more to the person who worked

But according to Elisabeth Svantesson, the Moderates' economic policy spokesperson, several factors have made it difficult to agree with the government.

- Basically, I am very happy that this "Nooshi supplement" has disappeared.

Even Nooshi Dadgostar (Left Party leader, editor's note) has backed down from that.

This is still better than what was from the beginning, she says.

- We agree to strengthen the most for those who have the most difficulty, but also those who have worked a whole working life who have 11-, 12-, 13,000 in pension need a reinforcement.

With our tax cut, all pensioners get it.

That is what the Social Democrats are voting against today, I think that is a shame.
