Hooded and armed, he robs a Creil bar-tobacco then returns to apologize

A 23-year-old man was sentenced by the court in Senlis (Oise) on Monday for a robbery in a bar-tabac in Creil in August 2018, reports

.

The defendant, who lived not far from the establishment, had been recognized by the manager.

On the day of the events, two men had entered armed and hooded inside the bar-tabac.

They then sprayed employees with tear gas and stole several thousand euros from the cash register as well as cigarettes before fleeing thanks to a motorist who was waiting for them outside.

He comes back and apologizes

The bartender then explained to the police that the defendant, whose voice he recognized, was among the robbers and that he had previously threatened to take action.

The denounced young man went himself to the bar an hour later to apologize.

“Sorry if I scared you,” he notably said to an employee.

Arrested in the process, the man explained that he had acted to settle a debt.

Already imprisoned for other facts, he was sentenced to an additional 15 months to be carried out at home under an electronic bracelet upon his release from prison.
