A 42-year-old man drowned while fishing this Sunday in Aulnoy (Seine-et-Marne).

According to the first elements of the investigation, the victim would have felt a big fish at the end of his line.

Unable to pull it up, it would have entered the water.

He would then have been unbalanced by the weight of his grip and would have fallen.

The man not knowing how to swim, he sank to the bottom of the pond, located along the D402.

An autopsy performed

Not seeing his father come to the surface, the child alerted a motorist, who called the emergency services.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the scene.

The 40-year-old was already dead when they arrived.

An autopsy of the body was to be performed on Monday.

The results should confirm accidental drowning.
