The conversion to electric vehicles is going at record speed.

Last year, the number of electric cars in Norrbotten doubled and Luleå has the most rechargeable vehicles in the entire county.

But electric cars also place new demands on workshop staff, and incorrect handling can have life-threatening consequences.

In order to be able to service the cars in a safe way, workshop staff in Luleå gather and train for a few days.

Educates high voltage technicians

- We train high-voltage technicians who will work with our vehicles, ie our hybrids and electric cars in the future.

High-voltage vehicles can be directly life-threatening to work with, says teacher Tomas Lindblad.

Vehicle mechanic Danijar Chekirov welcomes the training.

- Now we get training on high-voltage vehicles and skills to be able to work with them.

Want to create more security for customers

At present, there are not enough trained mechanics for high-voltage vehicles, according to vehicle mechanic Danijar Chekirov.

- We train our mechanics so that they feel comfortable and safe to work with it, and also the customers should feel confident that the mechanics know what they are doing, says Tomas Lindblad.

See what it looked like in the workshop when the staff got to learn more about safety.

Both under the hood and in the textbook, the mechanics are reminded of the safety when it comes to screwing in electric cars.
