“By virtue of historically fraternal and allied relations, Armenia occupies a special place among our friends and allies,” RIA Novosti reports his words during a reception dedicated to the Day of Russia.

The Ambassador said that Russian-Armenian diplomatic relations are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. 

In addition, this year the parties celebrate the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. 

“Over the course of these decades, cooperation between our countries has been distinguished by an intensive trust-based dialogue at the highest level, active interaction between various ministries and departments,” Kopyrkin emphasized.

He also noted the demand for further development and strengthening of relations between Russia and Armenia.

Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan congratulated Russian citizens and the country's leadership on Russia Day.

In his message, he noted the friendship and brotherhood of the peoples of Russia and Armenia.
