The government's plenary session, which is considering the division of single-seat constituencies in the House of Representatives, recommends a revised proposal to revise the division in about 140 constituencies in 25 prefectures nationwide, including "10 increase and 10 decrease". I started to make adjustments.

Nearly half of the single-seat constituencies will be the largest ever to be reviewed.

The government council, which is considering the constituency division for the "10 increase and 10 decrease" of the single-seat constituencies in the lower house election, decided on the revision plan of the constituency on the 16th and recommended it to Prime Minister Kishida. I'm doing the packing work.

In this revised proposal, the number of single-seat constituencies will be increased by 5 in Tokyo and 10 in total so that the so-called one-vote disparity will be less than doubled based on the results of the census. While increasing, it will decrease by 1 in 10 prefectures, "10 increase 10 decrease".

Also, in other prefectures, although the number of constituencies does not change, the change in the demarcation line to correct the one-vote disparity and the situation where cities and wards are divided into multiple constituencies will be resolved. Will also be reviewed.

As a result of the examination, adjustments were made in the direction of recommending a revised proposal to revise the zoning in about 140 constituencies in total, about 25 prefectures nationwide.

This is the fourth recommendation to revise the single-seat constituency, and nearly half of the 289 single-seat constituencies will be the largest ever to be reviewed.

The government has a policy of rushing to improve the law in response to the recommendation of the council, and a new zoning will be applied from the subsequent elections in the lower house.
