China News Service, June 13. According to a report from Hong Kong Wenhui.com, the Hong Kong SAR government held a press conference on the 13th to announce the details of the second phase of the consumer coupon program in 2022.

The Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Chen Maobo, announced that Hong Kong citizens can register to receive the second phase of consumer coupons from June 23 to July 23, and will be distributed in stages starting in August.

If citizens do not choose "transfer", they do not need to go through any registration procedures. The SAR government will automatically check the data that has been registered before, so that eligible citizens can smoothly receive the consumption coupons at the designated time.

Chen Maobo also pointed out that the second phase of consumer coupons will listen to the opinions of the community and expand the scope of eligible persons under reasonable circumstances, including Hong Kong permanent residents and new arrivals who have reached the age of 18 on or before June 13. People who have become Hong Kong permanent residents can also apply. For example, professionals who come to Hong Kong, professionals, entrepreneurs, and those who come to study in Hong Kong will receive half-value coupons.

In addition, two new stored value facility operators have been added this time, including BoC Pay and PayMe from HSBC.

Chen Maobo pointed out that he believed that the operators would launch more discounts to maintain an active atmosphere in the market.

Since the launch of the Consumer Coupon Program, the four operators have added 6.65 million individual users and 130,000 merchants.
