The German authorities are preparing to provide billions of euros to rescue the former division of Gazprom, which is now under the control of the country's energy regulator.

It is specified that the KfW Group bank plans to issue a loan of €5-10 billion to Gazprom Germania.

The allocated funds will be used to stabilize the economic situation in the company and ensure the reliability of supplies.

On April 1, the Gazprom Group announced the termination of its participation in the German company Gazpom Germania GmbH and in all its assets.

The Ministry of Economy of Germany ordered the Federal Network Agency to take Gazprom Germania under trusteeship by September 30.

On May 12, the head of the German Ministry of Economy, Robert Habek, said during a speech in the Bundestag that Gazprom's subsidiaries in Germany had stopped receiving gas from Russia.

According to Die Welt, due to the sanctions against Gazprom Germania, German citizens will incur additional costs of about €5 billion annually.
