In order to promote energy saving of housing toward the realization of a carbon-free society, the House of Councilors plenary session on the 13th will include amendments that require all newly built buildings to meet energy-saving standards such as heat insulation performance. It was unanimously approved and approved at the plenary session.

The purpose of this revised law is to reduce the amount of energy such as electricity and gas used for heating and cooling buildings.

For this reason, we have expanded the scope of energy-saving standards that have been set for some buildings such as office buildings, and from 2025 onward, we are obliged to meet all new buildings, including houses.

Specifically, new homes and small office buildings are also required to meet standards such as insulation thickness and window structure in order to improve energy-saving performance.

In addition, we will establish a new low interest rate loan system by the Japan Housing Finance Agency, which can be used when constructing energy-saving measures in existing houses.

The government says it will reduce building-related energy consumption by approximately 8.89 million kiloliters in 2030, converting energy consumption related to buildings into crude oil, in order to achieve the goal of virtually zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Therefore, we would like to further save energy in buildings by amending the law.
