The PRC said that in the event of an attempt to take away Taiwan, China will fight to the end

This is reported by TASS with reference to the Minister of Defense of China.

Earlier, the defense minister stressed that if anyone dares to break off Taiwan, the Chinese army will certainly be ready to fight, will not stand a price to destroy any plans to separate Taiwan or achieve its independence. 

Later, the head of the US Department of Defense, Lloyd Austin, said during the Shangri-La Dialogue international conference that the States did not intend to seek a cold war or conflict in the Asia-Pacific region.

As part of the same conference, Lloyd Austin announced that the United States will continue to make efforts to maintain the current situation in the Taiwan Strait.
