Private schools allow students to complete the school year from home

Private schools in Abu Dhabi have provided the option of home education during the remainder of the current academic year, as part of their plans to increase preventive measures during the examination period.

The schools reiterated their assurances to the students' families that the child should not be sent to school if he showed any symptoms of "Covid-19".

In detail, private schools reported that due to the approaching end of the school year, and if the family prefers that their child study from home, and although schools are not allowed to provide lessons directly via the Internet (online education), the school will publish the tasks and parts of the daily lessons. In the school’s e-learning program, it stipulated that the child access and interact with the lessons sent, and perform the required duties, so that he would be considered “present” and not be recorded in absence.

The Department of Education and Knowledge had decided to return all school stages with the classroom education model, starting from the current semester (the third semester) until the end of the academic year, with the exception of medical cases documented according to an approved medical report, as schools had to provide the option of distance education exclusively in cases of closure. The school, or only two categories of students, which are “high-risk” medical cases, and students who show respiratory symptoms related to “Covid-19”.

The procedures for the third semester included the abolition of the mandatory physical distancing in closed areas and inside classrooms at the beginning of the next semester, while continuing the mandatory wearing of masks in closed places, with the exception of kindergarten students.
