The road to terminal 5, the international terminal at Arlanda, was closed again early on Sunday morning following a decision by the airport company Swedavia.

The road was closed with a barrier and the police are on site to be able to redirect traffic if necessary and try to make it easier for travelers.

To reduce congestion, all traffic is directed to terminals 2 and 4 and passengers can proceed from there to terminal 5.

The police expect a large number of people and long queues at Arlanda today.

Early in the morning, Arlanda Express was not allowed to drop off passengers at the nearest station and arriving passengers were redirected to terminals 2 and 4.

- We estimate that it will look the same today as it did yesterday, says police spokesman Ola Österling.

"Avoid taking the car"

Do you have any advice for travelers going to Arlanda today?

- Avoid as much as possible to take the car take Arlanda and use public transport alternatives instead.

It can also be good to go to one of the long-term car parks and use public transport from there to the terminal, which means that there will be fewer cars at the terminal.

Swedavia: For early travelers, congestion increases

On Saturday, Swedavia said that the kitchen chaos is partly due to the fact that many travelers are out for far too good a time before departure.

- There will be a high load on Arlanda this summer.

If you can check in digitally, you should do so, said David Karlsson at Swedavia's press office to SVT.

- Otherwise, it is good to keep track of when your airline opens the check-in.

We have seen that people are here 6-8 hours before the flight leaves, long before the check-in opens.

And then the congestion increases.
