According to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, more than 800,000 residents of the LPR and DPR received Russian citizenship in a simplified manner in three years.
The ministry clarified that no more than 1% of applications from potential citizens are rejected.
On June 9, Alexei Selivanov, deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Zaporozhye region, announced that more than 4,000 residents of the Zaporozhye region had applied for Russian citizenship.
