This Sunday, sixty firefighters are still mobilized in Spécéradès, near Grasse, to counter possible resumption of a fire which covered 12 hectares of vegetation near homes on Saturday, said the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service ( Sdis) of the Alpes-Maritimes.
Border surveillance and treatment operations are still in progress with the support of a water bomber helicopter ready to intervene quickly.
Hardwoods and softwoods
On Saturday, 56 drops were made by the Canadairs to fix this fire which was progressing in a forest of hardwoods and softwoods.
And the weekend was particularly intense for the Riviera firefighters.
In Mouans-Sartoux, a little further south, they also came to the end of another fire which caused 1,200 m2 of undergrowth to go up in smoke, according to Sdis 06.
