The union of the left came first in the first round of the legislative elections with 26.1% of the vote, just ahead of the presidential majority with 25.4%.

The Rassemblement national completed the podium with 19.7%, well ahead of Les Républicains who only won 12.7% of the vote.

NUPES and the majority stand in a pocket handkerchief after the first round of legislative elections.

The left alliance comes first with 26.1% according to the first estimates and is a short head ahead of the presidential majority whose score is 25.4%.

The National Rally completes the podium with 19.7% of the vote, well ahead of Les Républicains (12.5%).

Reconquest!, Eric Zemmour's party won only 4.2% of the vote.

A vote marked by a strong abstention which could even break records.

As expected, the National Rally candidates failed to capitalize on the momentum of Marine Le Pen in the presidential election, who garnered more than 40% of the vote in the second round.

Confined to eight elected in 2017, the contingent of RN deputies should however be much larger this time, and still count in its ranks Ms. Le Pen, given largely in the lead in her constituency of Pas-de-Calais (around 55%) .

The Macronist coalition should obtain the majority in the Assembly

Conversely, in the wake of the heavy fall of its presidential candidate Valérie Pécresse, LR should lose its place as the leading opposition group in the National Assembly.

The Macronist coalition Together!

would obtain the most seats in the National Assembly at the end of the legislative elections, but without certainty of obtaining an absolute majority (289 seats minimum), according to the first projections of the polling institutes published Sunday at the end of the first round.
