The spokesperson for the National Rally, Laurent Jacobelli (RN), 52, finished first in the 8th constituency of Moselle during this first round of the legislative elections.

Laurent Jacobelli (RN) finished in the lead with 35.17% ahead of Nupes Céline Léger who won 27.68% of the vote.

But the surprise comes mainly from the defeat of outgoing deputy Brahim Hammouche (Together).

The latter is eliminated 23.44%.

In 2017, Laurent Jacobelli presented himself in the Bouches-du-Rhône.

This time, he chose Hayange and made the mayor of the city, Fabien Engelmann, his deputy.

The candidate had notably declared in a press release that he wanted to "oppose Emmanuel Macron's policy of contempt, to vote against retirement at 65, to refuse any increase in taxes or duties and to defend public services.

The RN candidate had concluded by indicating that he would fight “also to increase the number of National Police in the cities.
