Outgoing MP for the 1st constituency of Tarn-et-Garonne, the socialist Valérie Rabault came well ahead of the first round of legislative elections this outgoing Sunday by bringing together 33.33% of the votes cast.

She is ahead of the candidate of the National Rally, Pierre Poma (22.44%) to whom she will be opposed in the second round.

The candidate Together, Catherine Simonin, gathered 17.33% of the votes.

President of the Socialists & Related group at the Bourbon Palace, the one who is seeking a third term had been invested by Nupes in this constituency which includes Montauban but also more rural areas to the east of the department.

In 2017, in the first round, she came in second place behind the LREM candidate Pierre Mardegan, then at loggerheads with the mayor of Montauban, Brigitte Barèges.

Despite an unfavorable ballot, the outgoing MP won with more than 55% of the vote.

This time, she is in a much more favorable ballot and could validate her ticket next Sunday for a third term.
