Bulusan Volcano is still rumbling.

A week after the one that covered the city of Juban in the Philippines with ashes, a second eruption took place on Sunday June 12.

It lasted around 17 minutes and left a thick layer of ash on the roads, buildings and surrounding countryside.

"I thought it was raining but when I looked outside there were ashes everywhere," said resident Antonio Habitan.

Our river was clear but is now the color of ashes.

This eruption caused no injuries but a "low intensity unrest" alert level was issued by the authorities.

"We still can't say it's over.

It is possible that this eruption will be followed by another one, therefore we must be careful with the Bulusan volcano,” Renato Solidum, director of the agency, told DZBB radio.

The local disaster office in Juban said 366 people have taken shelter in emergency shelters, with most evacuated days before the eruption due to a series of volcanic earthquakes.

Bulusan Volcano has been active in recent years, with a dozen similar eruptions recorded in 2016 and 2017. The Philippines is located in the seismically active Pacific 'Ring of Fire' and has more than 20 active volcanoes .
