Leclerc retired before halfway, due to an engine problem, smoke coming from his single-seater in one of the long straights on the circuit of just over six kilometers long in the streets of Baku.
"Words are hard to find. It hurts, it's been three weekends in a row, it hurts, very badly. It's been three hard knocks, but the motivation is still there", commented Leclerc at the microphone of Canal More.
Leclerc had to settle for 4th place at home at the Monaco GP, and had retired at the Spanish GP in Barcelona, allowing Max Verstappen (Red Bull) to regain the lead in the driver standings.
The two Ferraris retired on Sunday, since the rear brakes of Spaniard Carlos Sainz Jr gave way on the 9th lap.
A blow for the Scuderia in the world championship for drivers and constructors.
