In 2019, pharmacy staff alerted that the owner of the ADHD clinic prescribed large amounts of drug-classified drugs to several patients.
Ivo decided to examine the doctor and requested 35 patient cases for examination.
However, since 29 of the selected patients were treated at the ADHD clinic in Copenhagen, Ivo could not examine those patient cases.
The doctor was criticized
The Swedish doctor who owns the ADHD clinic also owns several other care companies in Skåne.
Ivo's review of the six patient cases treated in Sweden ended with criticism:
In two cases, Ivo writes in his decision that "/ the doctor's name / has enabled a significantly higher dose than he prescribed through a lack of control of the patient's need for new prescriptions".
He is also criticized for lack of documentation in two patient records.
Already criticized in 2013
But already in 2013, he was reported by pharmacy staff for "abnormal prescribing of drugs".
It was then the National Board of Health and Welfare that examined the doctor and found that the doctor "had been too generous in his prescribing of narcotic drugs."
Despite the fact that the patients are Swedish and the prescriptions are picked up at Swedish pharmacies, Ivo cannot therefore examine the Swedish doctor's activities in Denmark.
We have wanted to interview Ivo about why, but only receive answers in text messages from Ivo's press manager, Adam Alfredsson, that Ivo does not have the opportunity to exercise supervision in another country.
“Eye opener”
In the Ivo decision from 2021, Ivo writes that “/ the doctor's name / has stated that Ivo's examination has been an eye opener for him.
/.../ He intends to check the prescription more carefully /.../ ”
In an email to SVT Nyheter Skåne, the ADHD clinic responds to the criticism from Ivo:
"It is not entirely uncommon that during a long working life, if you work clinically to the extent that / the doctor's name / has done with complicated psychiatric patients, you get criticism on some occasions."
