China News Service, June 12 (Reporter Meng Xiangjun) Recently, China's position on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has been affirmed by the two opposing parties in the conflict, Russia and Ukraine.

Not only that, but what is even more strange is that the United States, who has always wanted to find fault, has pulled down to admit that it can't catch China's "little braids" at present!

However, the mystery behind this may not be so simple...

[Russia and Ukraine affirm China's position]

On June 7, local time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky pointed out in response to questions from foreign media that China, as a great power, can "influence Russia and end this war".

He believes that major power leaders must make resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict a priority, and wants to ensure China supports Ukraine.

Ukrainian media reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had no problem with China's position on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

On May 25, Zelensky also stated in a video speech at the Davos Forum that China has adopted a non-involvement approach in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and has neither taken hostile actions against Ukraine nor supported the Russian Federation.

Although China has not taken measures to support Ukraine, Ukraine has "no objection" to China's policy. Zelensky said that he is willing to believe that "China will not pursue other policies."

On the other hand, on June 1, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed out that Moscow "highly appreciates the well-thought-out and impartial stance of Chinese friends on the situation in Ukraine and its surrounding areas." He said that in supporting Russia's efforts to build a European security architecture, " Feel the support of Beijing."

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Morgulov said that Russia appreciates Beijing's "condemnation of NATO for creating a European security crisis and unreasonable eastward expansion."

Russia's ambassador to China Denisov believes that the United States and its allies are not only prepared to let Ukraine and Russia fight "to the last minute", but also "exerted serious external pressure" on China.

Some people are "provoking Russia-China relations", but the Russian side has determined that the relationship between the two countries will definitely stand the test.

[The United States rarely admits that there is no evidence]

  Look at the US position.

On June 9, U.S. Treasury Secretary Yellen pointed out that the United States would be "extremely disappointed" if it found that China helped Russia bypass sanctions.

But she also acknowledged that, so far, the United States has not seen "substantial evidence" that "could be said" to be such support.

You know, the U.S. House of Representatives only passed a "China-related draft" at the end of April, requiring the U.S. State Department to report any actions that China has identified as helping Russia to evade sanctions.

This is an attempt to fabricate a crime out of thin air, put it on China, and ask China to "draw a clear line" with Russia.

In May, the US-led Group of Seven (G7) also concocted a statement "reminding" China not to "undermine" Western sanctions against Russia.

The statement is lengthy and detailed:

  • Do not "provide assistance" in Russia's "war of aggression" against Ukraine;

  • Do not "undermine sanctions against Russia";

  • Do not "defend" Russia's actions in Ukraine;

  • Do not use "information manipulation, disinformation and other means" to legitimize Russian behavior, etc.

On March 24, local time, representatives of the Group of Seven (G7) and the European Union held a summit in Brussels, Belgium, and U.S. President Joe Biden attended.

At that time, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev pointed out sharply that the G7 group "doesn't want this, don't want that", "in fact, it is directly interfering in China's affairs, and it is implied that China, the G7 can punish you."

The most outrageous thing is that at the Davos forum where Zelensky gave a speech, in order to "splash dirty water" on China, American congressmen took photos of Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Liming and others to spread rumors, saying that the Chinese delegation did not. A standing ovation for Zelensky's speech and a "world-class" joke.

[Behind these statements, it is not easy!

How should I put it, it's really strange that the well-planned United States suddenly admits that it has not caught China's "little braids".

And Zelensky's two China-related remarks are inconsistent with his previous performance.

Not only for China, but also for the West and Russia-Ukraine negotiations, Zelensky has always been changeable.

Ukraine is increasingly looking at China, and the United States has made a rare statement. There may be multiple considerations:

First, the Russian side pushed forward firmly, and the West began to waver.

Second, if you want to negotiate, China is a good "assistant".

Third, put a high hat on China and maintain the pressure of public opinion.

Fourth, consider post-war reconstruction and economic development in Ukraine.

With the passage of time, the West has basically exhausted its means to "bleed" Russia, but part of the "bullet" against Russia has hit itself.

Inflation, energy crisis, broken supply chain, coupled with the continuous "burning money" to supply Ukraine with weapons, people in Europe and the United States are full of grievances.

At the same time, the Russian army is firmly advancing in the Donbas region, and Putin is close to realizing the strategic intention of the second stage of the operation and will not retreat due to any sanctions.

On June 5, 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky listened to a military report on the front line in the Donbas region.

For the sake of Ukraine, instead of letting themselves suffer, there has long been a rift within the West. Some countries have begun to consider "let it go as soon as possible", and directly put aside Ukraine's negotiation plan for peace talks, including exchanging part of Ukraine's territory with Russia.

Whether Zelensky recognized the unreliability of the West or based on the unfavorable situation on the battlefield, he did want to stop the conflict, so he turned his eyes to the great power in the East - China.

Although the Russian side said that the Ukrainian side has withdrawn from the negotiations, Zelensky has repeatedly acknowledged that political negotiations are the only way to achieve final peace.

It's just that the Western comprador forces behind him and Ukrainian domestic political pressure do not allow him to easily return to the negotiating table.

As a responsible and trustworthy big country, China has always encouraged peace and talks internationally, and has an unusual relationship with Russia. If you want to negotiate, it is an inevitable consideration to ask China for help.

Moreover, the United States and the West really want to pull China into the water, and they want to get involved as deeply as possible, but China has never taken the bait.

They are watching China's every move at any time, wanting to find some clues that China is helping Russia, so as to "invite teachers to ask guilt".

Now this kind of public opinion is like putting a high hat on China. Once China shows any sign of favoring the Russian side, it will become the material for the US and the West to fabricate charges. This is more out of the US's consideration.

  Zelensky has his own considerations.

As he pointed out, before the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, China was Ukraine's largest trading partner, and "the two countries have a very good and long history".

The US and the West have given tens of billions of dollars to each other. The war is not over yet, and Ukraine has already carried huge debts. When the conflict is over, will the US and the West still fund the reconstruction?

Whether restarting trade or rebuilding the country, Zelensky is likely to use China as one of his partners.

He did not choose to stiffen the relationship with China, and he may also be thinking of long-term development.

On April 5, local time, the UN Security Council held an open meeting on the situation in Ukraine at the UN headquarters in New York.

In short, what is China's position? Zhao Lijian, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has clearly pointed out:

China always decides its own position and policy based on the merits of the matter itself.

China has always opposed the imposition of unilateral sanctions on other countries beyond the authorization of international law and the United Nations.

Sanctions are not an effective means to solve the problem. Instead, they will accelerate the spillover of the Ukraine crisis and bring about new and complex problems.

China calls on all parties to do more to encourage and promote peace talks to open up space for political settlement.

When dealing with the Ukraine issue and relations with Russia, relevant countries must not harm China's legitimate interests in any way.

America and its allies, take a closer look!
