Bahrain: No cases of tuberculosis among prison inmates

The Ministry of Health in Bahrain confirmed that there is no case of tuberculosis in the Correction and Rehabilitation Center at the present time, indicating that the injured inmate earlier had been transferred to the Salmaniya Medical Complex two weeks ago and his condition is now stable, and he is still undergoing the necessary treatment and medical care. .

The ministry explained that the procedures followed in such cases were taken by the medical team based on international protocols, and all necessary precautionary examinations were completed on the rest of the inmates in contact to check on the health situation in general, stressing that no infections were detected among those in contact.

According to the Bahrain News Agency, "Banna", the ministry called for the necessity of obtaining information from its correct sources and not paying attention to what is being circulated about the transmission of infection to inmates or their failure to obtain the necessary medical care in this regard.

The Ministry of Health stressed that it will continue to evaluate the level of health services and medical, psychological and physical care for the inmates, apply the treatment protocols that are appropriate for each diseased case, and continue to identify the various needs in an effort to preserve the gains achieved through the excellence of the health system in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Ministry of Health stressed that the procedures followed in such cases were taken by the treating medical team, and work and coordination are underway to ensure the safety of the health status of all inmates.
