Three weeks after a great first for the seniors failed due to cramps in Grosseto (Italy), Zhoya (19 years old) logically improved his time considerably by finishing 4th in his series, with a time which makes him selectable for the Championships of Europe in Munich (August 15-21).

He then withdrew from participating in the final.

"Not the race I dreamed of today...I will come back stronger," he wrote on his Instagram account.

He is scheduled for the Diamond League meeting in Paris on June 18.

In front of him, his compatriot Just Kwaou-Mathey (22) also broke his personal best in 13 sec 30 in series (13.42 in the final) and validated the level of performance required by the French federation for the Worlds in Eugene (14-24 July).

Laeticia Bapté (23) also improved her personal best in the 100m hurdles and took 2nd place in the final in 12 sec 80 (0.5 m/s wind), also achieving the NPR for Eugene.

Amaury Golitin took 2nd place in the 100m in 10 sec 08 (+1.5 m/s wind) before impressing over 200m in 20 sec 25 (2nd, +0.6 m/s wind).

The 25-year-old athlete thus signs his record and the second European time of the season over the distance.

Apart from Christophe Lemaitre, no Frenchman had gone so fast for 29 years on the half-lap.
