For the first time since the re-election of Emmanuel Macron, the social partners are meeting at the Élysée this Friday.

The opportunity for the Head of State to move forward on the creation of the famous National Council for Refoundation.

A project which must embody its change of method for the second five-year term.

Emmanuel Macron receives union leaders for lunch this Friday, two days before the legislative elections.

This is the first time they will be reunited at the Élysée since his re-election.

The CGT declined the invitation, but the other major unions should be represented.

On the menu, the creation of the famous National Council for Refoundation, the CNR, announced last week in his interview with the regional press.

The Head of State wants to move forward with this project, which should embody his change of method for the second five-year term.

The place of the social partners in the CNR in question

The unions this Friday, then next Tuesday, it will in principle be the turn of the employers' leaders to be received at the Elysée to discuss this National Council for Refoundation.

With these meetings, the Head of State wants to prove that he no longer intends to circumvent the intermediary bodies.

It remains to be seen what place will be occupied by the social partners in this new CNR.

Because for the moment, the contours of the body that will be created after the legislative elections are unclear.

A first working dinner on the subject took place on Tuesday at the Élysée, in the presence of Élisabeth Borne and certain ministers.

The discussions mainly focused on the general philosophy and the issues on which it will work prior to the adoption of future reforms.

Work, ecological transition, education, starting first this summer with purchasing power.

If it is for the moment difficult to grasp how this CNR will articulate its work with that of the Parliament, the Economic, Social and Environmental Council or the High Commission for Planning, a few names have already been mentioned to take the presidency.

Those of Jean-Louis Borloo, Jean Castex and even Catherine Vautrin.
