The building of the second terminal of the airport of the Syrian capital was also damaged.
The ministry explained that flights to and from Damascus airport will be resumed upon completion of restoration work.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova commented on the Israeli airstrike on Damascus International Airport.
