The Ministry of Health presents the benefits of “My Care” at the World Summit on the Information Society in Switzerland

The World Summit on the Information Society in Switzerland honored the UAE for winning the Digital Healthcare Transformation category after the Ministry of Health and Prevention participated in its project on the unified national health registry "My Care", which aims to emphasize digital readiness in the field of health care throughout the country.

During the event, the ministry reviewed a series of achievements that consolidate government trends towards automating and digitizing all government services.

The summit is one of the largest annual gatherings of the information and communication community in the world. It is organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Development Program and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, in addition to the International Telecommunication Union. During its events, prizes are awarded to 193 countries.

Ahmed Ali Al Dashti, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector, stressed that this honor comes as a global culmination of a series of pioneering achievements made by the UAE in terms of digital transformation of the health sector, under the directives of the wise leadership towards adopting the latest healthcare technologies and consolidating the country’s position among the digital health pioneers worldwide. As a vital part of the state's projects for the next fifty years aimed at building a sustainable health system based on the highest international standards.

He pointed to the prominent role of the "My Care" project in changing the health care landscape in the country through a central digital system that displays updated clinical data for patient records in order to improve the quality and level of health services for members of society in general in the UAE.

For his part, Ali Al-Ajmi, Director of the Digital Health Department at the Ministry, explained a number of benefits that have been achieved from the "My Care" project in improving the disease monitoring mechanism, increasing productivity and improving patients' experience by applying the best standards and practices, ease of access to data and information quality, and reducing costs by providing digital records. For patients, taking into account all privacy standards and the smooth exchange of information related to health insurance between health insurance companies and health insurance claims management companies.
