The Government continues to prove its null intention of applying 25% of Spanish in schools in Catalonia.

Not immediately, as required by the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia, but also for the next academic year.

This is inferred from the Guidelines for the Organization and Management of Educational Services for the 2022-2023 academic year, which the Generalitat sent to the directors of the centers last Tuesday, June 7, and in which any reference to the minimum quota is avoided. Spanish imposed by the High Court to ensure the vehicularity of Spanish in schools throughout Catalonia.

The document, to which this newspaper has had access, only mentions the possibility of "providing content in Spanish, especially in contexts where Spanish is not the first language of the majority of students, to guarantee that, at the end of compulsory education, assume the same level of the official languages'.

With this vague allusion, the Department of Education led by

Josep Gonzàlez-Cambray

avoids guaranteeing that all schools in the region will teach at least one more core subject in Spanish starting next year, as dictated by the historic ruling that dynamite the bases of the dip.

These guidelines were sent to the centers one day before the ERC, the PSC, Junts and the

commons

approved in Parliament the language law with which they intend to shield immersion from legal action.

A norm that neither recognizes Spanish as a vehicular nor makes reference to percentages and that will be appealed before the Constitutional Court.

After learning of the latest instructions from the Generalitat, Ciudadanos has extended the complaint to the Prosecutor's Office that it filed against Cambray for disobeying the sentence, considering that "it is ordered to intentionally exclude guaranteeing in any case and, in the percentage that guarantees its vehicular nature of 25%, teaching in Spanish.
