4th in Loiret: baptism of fire for Blanquer

Several members of the outgoing government submit themselves for the first time to the democratic ballot.

For the former Minister of Education, Jean-Michel Blanquer, the baptism of fire takes place in the 4th constituency of Loiret, which has always voted on the right since 1958. On the side of Montargis, he intends to conquer the seat of outgoing Jean -Pierre Door (LR), elected since 2002, who is not standing.

Marine Le Pen (RN) came out on top in this constituency in the first (32%) and second rounds (52%) of the presidential election.

First time also for the new head of government.

Elisabeth Borne is a candidate in the heart of the Normandy bocage, in the 6th district of Calvados.

Originally from Livarot, she defends herself from being parachuted where LREM had obtained one of its best results in 2017 with Alain Tourret, the outgoing who does not represent himself.

She faces a 22-year-old invested by Nupes, Noé Gauchard, and an RN candidate, Jean-Philippe Roy.

In the first round of the presidential election, Emmanuel Macron came first here with 30.8% of the vote.

5th of Ain: Abad plays big

In the 5th district of Ain, the Minister of Solidarity Damien Abad, in turmoil after accusations of rape, is playing his political future.

The only big catch of the macronie, if he loses in his electoral stronghold where he had won hands down under the LR label in 2017, he will have to resign from the government.

He faces an opponent of the Republicans, Julien Martinez.

In this constituency, voters placed Marine Le Pen in the lead in the first round of presidential elections with 25.4% of the vote.

4th in Var: Zemmour, the return

Candidates for the AFP legislative elections

Arrived 4th in the presidential election with 7% of the vote, Eric Zemmour maintained the suspense for a long time before announcing his candidacy in Saint-Tropez where he had obtained 14.7% in the first round.

A constituency where the far right won a total of nearly 47% of the vote, Marine Le Pen having come first with a third of the vote ahead of Emmanuel Macron (24.1%).

11th in Gironde: the RN in conquest

The RN could win its first seat in Gironde near Blaye, in the 11th constituency where Marine Le Pen came out on top with 36.5% of the vote in the 1st round of the presidential election.

Its candidate, Edwige Diaz, who arrived 2nd in the regional last year in New Aquitaine, is none other than its spokesperson.

She will try to snatch this constituency from the outgoing LREM Véronique Hammerer who had herself delighted on the left in 2017.

Handover: the rebellious Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who gave up running for the legislative elections, ceded his constituency in Marseille, historically anchored on the left, to his campaign manager, Manuel Bompard.

In the first round of the presidential election, the leader of Nupes had obtained more than half of the votes (54.4%).

Mr. Bompard, beaten five years ago in Haute-Garonne, also defends himself from being parachuted.

8th of Haute-Garonne: Delga and the dissidents

The political future of Carole Delga could be played out in the Southwest, land historically acquired by the left.

Because largely re-elected last year at the head of the Occitanie region, the socialist rejected the agreement of the Nupes on the left, which grants only six constituencies out of 49 to the PS in the whole region, choosing to support on a case-by-case basis of dissenting candidates.

In her former constituency, the eighth of Haute-Garonne, she got involved as campaign director for the outgoing Joël Aviragnet who was invested by Nupes, but whose situation has since been confused.

The ecologist Annabelle Fauvernier claims the support of LFI, EELV and Générations.

15th of Paris: duel on the left

The investitures of the Nupes create other frictions.

In the 15th constituency in the northeast of Paris, the socialist Lamia El Aaraje has chosen to stand against the Insoumise Danielle Simonnet (Nupes).

The PS believes that the constituency should have been reserved for Ms. El Aaraje, elected in 2021 … against Ms. Simonnet.

The Constitutional Council then invalidated this partial due to another competitor who had improperly used the LREM logo.

Hauts-de-Seine: LR desert?

The right, already rolled in the presidential election, could be removed from Hauts-de-Seine, one of its historic strongholds, under the onslaught of Together!

and Nupes.

The Republicans, who had won only two seats out of 13 in 2017, conquered by Thierry Solère and Constance Le Grip, both having joined from Macronie, did not manage to agree with their centrist allies of the UDI in this territory of western Paris where Emmanuel Macron (37.11%) came first in the first round ahead of Jean-Luc Mélenchon (25.77%).

Minister Gabriel Attal is running in the 10th constituency.

The secretary general of the Republicans Aurélien Pradié, figure of the young guard who calls for a break with Sarkozyism, represents himself in this constituency historically anchored on the left which he had won by a short head five years ago against an opponent LREM .

Campaigning in a 4L convertible, he hopes to take advantage of the divisions on the left.

In a department where Valérie Pécresse, of which he was the spokesperson, has just exceeded the 5% mark, he faces the candidacy of PS Rémi Branco and Nupes Elsa Bougeard.

LREM candidate Frédéric Decremps withdrew at the last minute for personal reasons.
