  Relevant documents released by the Russian legal information website show that Mishustin signed the order in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations of the Russian Federation.

The document said that Russia's withdrawal from the World Tourism Organization was proposed by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and reached an agreement with other relevant government departments.

  The World Tourism Organization held a special meeting in Madrid, Spain on April 27. One of the main topics was to discuss whether to suspend Russia's membership.

After the meeting, Russia offered to withdraw from the organization.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on the same day saying that the World Tourism Organization has actually been monopolized by EU countries for its own interests.

The Russian side believes that it is inappropriate to continue working in the World Tourism Organization and decides to withdraw from the organization.

  According to relevant regulations, it will take another year for the World Tourism Organization to complete the entire withdrawal procedure from the time the World Tourism Organization receives the official notification from the member states.
