“This is not a real Summit of the Americas if a significant part of the continent and the people of Latin America are excluded from it,” Brian Becker, head of the coalition of protesters, told RIA Novosti.

According to him, the demonstrators demand the authorities to end the blockade of Cuba and the destabilization of the Latin American region.

Argentine President Alberto Fernandez has previously criticized the United States' decision to deny Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua the participation in the Summit of the Americas.

The New York Times noted that the potential refusal to come to the event by the presidents of Mexico and Brazil, Andres Manuel López Obrador and Jair Bolsonaro, could be a humiliating blow for US President Joe Biden.
