35 ministers is four more than the previous team.

Most kept their wallets.

Suzy Carla Barbosa is still Minister of Foreign Affairs, or even Botché Candé at the Ministry of the Interior.

A new figure, Fernando Gomes, former prosecutor and legal adviser to President Umaru Sissoco Embalo, has entered the Ministry of Territorial Administration.

A few changes to note: General Sandji Fati is leaving Defense for the Ministry of Agriculture.

He exchanges with Marciano Silva Barbeiro.

No PAIGC official, the former ruling party, is on the new team.

Three ministers sacked the day after their appointment

By decree this Friday, the President of Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo, dismissed the three ministers he had appointed the day before when forming a new government.

The functions of Minister of MM.

Tcherno Djalo (Education), Fernando Dias (Natural Resources) and Mario Fambe (Energy and Industries)

,” the decree reads.

The three ministers did not take part in the inauguration ceremony of the new government on Friday "

and did not provide any explanation justifying their absence

", specified the presidency in a press release.

The three sacked ministers are all members of the Social Renovation Party (PRS), a member of the ruling coalition, led by the presidential party Madem.

Their absence from the investiture ceremony is said to be linked to dissatisfaction with the way the executive was formed.

“

We sent him a list of leaders selected to be part of the new government.

He ignored it.

He did what he saw fit.

Let him take over

,” a PRS official told AFP on condition of anonymity.
