China News Service, Beijing, June 10 (Reporter Huang Yuqin) Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian hosted a regular press conference on the 10th.

A reporter asked: The US has just released a fact list, mentioning that the US is helping Ukraine and other countries reduce weapons of mass destruction. What's the spokesperson's comment?

Is this the US's response to the questioning of the international community?

Zhao Lijian: I have noticed the relevant documents released by the US Department of Defense.

The document talks a lot about how Ukraine is fulfilling the treaty, but it says nothing about the U.S.’s own compliance.

For some of the questions that the international community is most concerned about, such as whether the United States uses its cooperation with Ukraine to carry out activities that do not comply with the Biological Weapons Convention?

What is the sensitive information that the U.S.-Ukraine cooperation agreement stipulates that Uzbekistan shall not disclose?

How many biological samples did the U.S. take away under the U.S.-Ukraine agreement?

What is the use of?

The U.S. side made no mention of it in this document.

As I have repeatedly emphasized, the United States is the country with the most biomilitary activities in the world and the only country that opposes the establishment of a verification mechanism for the Biological Weapons Convention. The international community has long been concerned about this.

Recently, Russia further disclosed the situation of U.S. biomilitary activities in Ukraine, and explicitly accused the U.S. of violating the Biological Weapons Convention.

According to the provisions of the Convention, the United States is obliged to clarify this in order to restore the confidence of the international community in the United States' compliance.

We once again urge the US to act in a responsible manner, make comprehensive and specific clarifications on the compliance of the US rather than Ukraine, and stop its exclusive opposition to the establishment of a verification mechanism for the Biological Weapons Convention.
