The Dubai Criminal Court convicted an (Arab) employee of embezzling an amount of 69,000 dirhams from a tourism company he works for.

According to the details of the case, the accused works as a sales employee in a tourism and travel company, and receives customer requests from reservations, hotels, and flights. outside its headquarters, or he himself goes to them to collect the value of the reservations in cash, and then does not return it later to the company, which discovered the matter when the hotels demanded the customers’ statements.

Confronting the accused to find out where the company’s money went, he admitted that he had received the amounts in cash from the clients and did not supply them because of his need for money, and this was supported in the investigations by the director and owner of the company, who confirmed that he did not receive the cash amounts referred to, which are supposed to be collected in exchange for completing the procedures for residence visa and travel tickets And the hotel for the residence of some clients, but the accused embezzled them.

While the company’s accountant stated that he had discovered many bills recorded by the accused, as they would be received from the customer upon his arrival, contrary to the company’s instructions, and realized that the accused had obtained them in cash, so he asked him to return them to the company, but he asked the accountant to overlook the matter and remain silent. He refused and informed the owner of the company who asked him to audit Then he discovered that the accused had made reservations for many clients and received money from them and did not return it to the company's account.

By questioning the accused, he denied the charge, and later did not appear before the court, which convicted him of embezzlement and sentenced him in absentia to a fine of 10,000 dirhams, and ordered him to pay the embezzled amounts of 69,175 dirhams.
