Hultsfred, Borgholm, Högsby, Kalmar, Mörbylånga, Oskarshamn and Torsås have already hooked on the offer and bought summer cards for their young people, and now Västervik is doing the same.

- The summer holiday tickets will be given to each of the students included in the current year groups, Lisa Lidström writes at Västervik Municipality's children and education administration in a press release.

The summer holiday card is given to everyone who is registered in the municipality who at the spring term leaves either grades 6–9 in compulsory school, compulsory special school, special school or years 1 and 2 in upper secondary school or upper secondary special school.

Dan Nilsson (S): "Investment in the labor market"

The summer card will be valid from 18 June to 21 August and is valid for an unlimited number of trips by bus and train within Kalmar County.

- We see this as a good investment for the labor market in the municipality as well, as young people can now more easily accept summer jobs in other urban areas than where they themselves live.

In total, this is about a cost for the municipality of 1.3 million kroner that is picked from this year's positive financial results, I think it is well spent money, writes municipal councilor Dan Nilsson (S).
