Xinhua News Agency, Kyiv, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a presidential decree on the 9th announcing the implementation of sanctions imposed by the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council against Russian President Vladimir Putin and other Russian dignitaries.

  According to the news released on the website of the Uzbek Presidential Palace on the same day, the sanctions list includes a total of 35 people.

In addition to Putin, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Peskov, Prime Minister Mishustin, Defense Minister Shoigu, and Foreign Minister Lavrov were also included in the sanctions list.

Sanctions include indefinite restrictions on the use or disposal of sanctioned assets in Ukraine, and prohibition of sanctioned persons from engaging in trade with Ukraine.

  Zelensky also signed a presidential decree on the same day, announcing sanctions on the presidents of 261 Russian universities and suspending exchanges with 236 Russian universities in the fields of scientific cooperation, culture, education and sports.
