Shortly before noon, two retirees aged 84 and 67 were violently hit in Montauban by an 88-year-old driver, on the avenue du Père Leonid-Chrol.

One of the victims died on the spot.

The other was taken care of by emergency services.

Taken to hospital, she succumbed to her injuries.

The octogenarian, who was driving the vehicle involved in the accident, was also taken care of by the firefighters because of the shock.

For its part, the Montauban prosecution has opened an investigation for "manslaughter", as is customary in this type of accident.
