The Sharjah Private Education Authority has determined the mechanisms for the performance of students infected with “Covid-19” and those in contact with the exams at the end of the third semester, as it sent circulars to private school administrations based on the procedures of the Follow-up and Evaluation Committee for “Covid-19” cases in private schools and nurseries.

The authority stated to "Emirates Today" that it was decided to attend schools with "Corona" patients from the 12th grade, and students of the "board" exams who suffer from simple symptoms or do not show symptoms of illness, for the purpose of completing the exams, provided that the school provides them with specific areas separate from The rest of the school facilities, while adhering to the precautionary measures and not mixing directly with other people in the school before and after the exam.

The authority indicated that with regard to students of the 12th grade and students of the "board" exams who suffer from severe symptoms as a result of being infected with the "Corona" virus, they will be retested later in coordination with their school administrations.

The directors of private schools in Sharjah confirmed to "Emirates Today" their commitment to the circular issued by the Sharjah Special Education Authority and the Follow-up and Evaluation Committee for "Covid-19" cases in schools and nurseries, stressing that all precautionary measures are taken during exams, including social distancing, temperature checks and obligatory by wearing masks.

The Sharjah Private Education Authority had sent circulars to private school administrations to update the procedures followed regarding the attendance of students infected with the “Corona” virus and those in contact with the exams at the end of the third semester, during which it stressed the need to adhere to the protocol regarding positive cases of “Covid-19” and those in contact.

The PCR must also be re-examined on the fifth day after the last contact with the positive case.

For his part, the school director, Ibrahim Baraka, said that the school sent a circular to parents regarding the performance of students infected with the “Corona” virus for the exams, explaining that “in the past, students were allowed to be absent due to the presence of compensatory exams that they can perform, but because the exams for the third semester are final exams. During the year, we allowed students with mild symptoms to enter the exams and adhere to the precautionary measures and the places designated for them.”

School principal, Fatima Boumois, confirmed that the latest update to the school from the Sharjah Special Education Authority requires the attendance of students with corona who do not have symptoms, from 12th grade students and board students, noting that in this case special committees will be organized for those who attend an infected person.

And she added: "If it is in a more satisfactory stage, the names are uploaded to the (Tamam) platform, which is concerned with uploading the names of the infected cases and those in contact with the Sharjah Special Education Authority, and thus they are transferred to the test (online), and then a new swab is given to them after three to five days. ».

The director of Nasr Abdel Qader School said: "We do not have cases of corona infection so far, and if any case is detected, strict precautionary measures are followed with the establishment of special committees for them, in compliance with the directives of the Sharjah Private Education Authority," explaining that all precautionary measures are being followed strictly for all Students are required to measure temperature, hygiene, social distancing, and distances between one and a half meters between each student.

School principal, Rafael Badr, said that her school does not currently have any cases of "Covid-19" for students, but if any cases appear, the protocol sent by the Sharjah Special Education Authority regarding the groups to be attended and the excluded groups will be followed.
