Good evening,

nowhere does Peter Feldmann feel as comfortable as at the annual New Year's reception of the DGB Frankfurt.

The social democrat and mayor of the Main metropolis really flourished and felt like he was among like-minded people.

Now his unbreakable friendship with the employee representatives is helping him: In a letter to the magistrate and the parliamentary group leaders in the city council, the Frankfurt DGB complained about a campaign against the mayor that had been going on for two years and determined who was demanding his resignation before the end of the upcoming court proceedings, put yourself above the law and practice prejudice.

Feldmann himself let it be known on Wednesday that he would face the voting procedure – but he doesn't have a choice either, because he doesn't decide that,

but the city council.

However, it is by no means certain that the errant letter from the DGB will help him.

The new Prime Minister of Hesse, Boris Rhein (CDU), made a lot of promises in his first government statement.

More climate protection and bringing the IAA back from Munich, for example.

A kind of dialectic, as our state parliament correspondent Ewald Hetrodt writes, in order to do justice to everyone, both their own party and their coalition partner, the Greens.

I hope he doesn't promise too much.

Will the people of Munich let themselves be ripped off from the IAA as soon as they get it?

We'll put that in the resubmission folder.

There is still the topic of Corona, and unfortunately there are reasons to bring it up again and again.

For example, because the first digital vaccination certificates are about to expire.

The excitement among those who unexpectedly receive a corresponding notification on their smartphone is great, but fortunately the practical consequences are small.

On the one hand, the controls have been dropped for the moment, and on the other hand, the Robert Koch Institute promises an update that will allow the certificate to be extended.

And anyone who has been boosted is considered permanently vaccinated anyway.

And there is also an exhibition with works by Frank Stella in the Museum Wiesbaden +++ there is a dispute about the prices of cleaning products in the supermarket, and the Frosch brand from Mainz is in the middle of it +++ there are serious allegations at the party conference of the CDU Wiesbaden against the Greens and SPD because of their behavior after the local elections.

I wish you a pleasant evening

Yours, Manfred Koehler
