The trial for "sexual assault" of former football star columnist Pierre Ménès was postponed on Wednesday by the Paris Criminal Court to March 8, 2023. "In a file with a gray area for and against, it is to the advantage of your client that it is not a sloppy file", argued the president of the court to the defense, deploring a hearing problem which left only one hour for the study of the file.

The 58-year-old sports journalist, "very sick" and hospitalized "until May", "almost in a coma", according to his lawyer Me Arash Derambarsh, was not present in court, noted an AFP journalist .

No civil party was present or represented Wednesday at the hearing.

Prosecution for acts of sexual assault and "sexual assault"

Pierre Ménès is being prosecuted for acts of sexual assault, "touching" in the chest and stomach reported to the police by a hostess of the Parc des Princes after the PSG-Nantes match on November 20 in Paris .

This woman had not filed a complaint.

He must also respond to a complaint for "sexual assault" filed in October 2018 by an employee of a Parisian Nike store.

The complaint had been dismissed, after a reminder of the law by the Paris prosecutor's office, a criminal orientation which can be revised in the event of new facts.

Pierre Ménès disputes these accusations.
