A new stage has just been reached in the salmonella scandal of Ferrero products which broke out at the beginning of April.

Six new searches which were carried out this Wednesday by the authorities in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Searches in Belgium carried out by the federal police and the Food Safety Agency led to the seizure of documents and computers.

They took place in the Brussels offices of Ferrero, but they mainly focused on the factory in Arlon in the Belgian Ardennes.

Kinder products manufactured in the Ferrero factory in Arlon in Belgium are the source of cases of salmonellosis in France, but also in Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

On April 19, the Arlon public prosecutor's office opened a judicial investigation against Ferrero for breaches of food safety and hygiene, traceability and notification, but also for involuntary bodily harm and for failure to assist a person. in danger.

Search at the world headquarters in Luxembourg

And in Luxembourg, as part of this Belgian investigation and under judicial cooperation, the justice system and the police also carried out searches at three sites, including the world headquarters of Ferrero, established on the territory of Grand -Duchy.

Production at the Arlon factory

was stopped on April 8

by the Belgian authorities, it was to resume production after June 13, but the unions on the spot expect a new postponement.
