Five years ago, they were unknown to the political world.

Today the Insoumis deputies from the Lille constituencies, Adrien Quatennens (the 1st from the North) and Ugo Berrnalicis (the 2nd), have made a name for themselves in the National Assembly and in the media world.

Both are standing for re-election, the first round of which is on Sunday.

The first was able to seduce the small screen with his ability to tackle all subjects with ease and perhaps thanks to his unique look: the red hair cut in a brush.

The second was projected into the light of social networks thanks to striking interventions in the hemicycle or in the law commission.

He too deploys this effective rhetoric that so appeals to the world of images.

“His goal is to address the voters of rebellious France!

In an article from the Médiacités news site, a Macronist deputy, who had worked with Ugo Bernalicis in a commission of inquiry, criticized him for arranging to be filmed "every time he spoke in committee or in the hemicycle".

“His goal is not to discuss with other parliamentarians, but to address the voters of rebellious France!

“, he swayed.

A strategy assumed by the interested party.

"When you do national media, you are much more present in your constituency than when you do the school fair," he said in the interview.

, he prefers to talk about the collective, highlighting "the organization within the LFI group" which "facilitates joint work".

“Thus, everyone can intervene on a TV set or in the morning radio because we all consider ourselves equal at the base, which is not the case in all parties”, underlines Ugo Bernalicis.

"The Best of Us"

However, he recognizes Adrien Quatennens as "the best of us" to express himself in the media.

"He shone with his ability to convey concrete messages and not slogans," he slips.

“Ugo rather specialized in subjects that he wanted to dig into such as the police and justice, indicates, for his part, Adrien Quatennens.

Me, I have a more general speech.

At 33 for Ugo Bernalicis and 32 for Adrien Quatennens, the two Northerners are therefore already old hands in politics.

To the point of being able to organize jointly, Tuesday evening at the Sébastopol theater in Lille, a concert meeting with the presence of the singer Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine.

"This is the first time he has agreed to participate in a political rally," rejoices Adrien Quatennens, who also went on stage to play the drums, one of his hobbies.

Our 2022 legislative file

Unquestionably, the two shooting stars of France Insoumise (LFI) wish to shine for another five years.

In 2017, Ugo Bernalicis won by a large margin in the second round against a macronist candidate entangled in cases of false diplomas and prohibited Leetchi pots.

Adrien Quatennens had, for his part, won by a very short head, 46 votes.

They are, this time, the favorites.

In the 1st district of the North, the other candidates are: Jonathan Lefrancq (without label / SE), Mai Rimlinger (Reconquest!), Audric Alexandre (PACE), Pierre Madelain (Labour struggle), Vanessa Duhamel (Together, presidential majority), Carole Leclercq (National Rally), Constance Godest (Animalist Party), Frédéric Chaouat (Political Wisdom), Thomas Fabre (UDI) and Hugo Desmarchelier (SE).

In the 2nd constituency, they are: Caroline Boisard-Vannier (Les Républicains), Monique Delevallet (Reconquest!), Nicolas Karasiewicz (A new look, DVC), Nordine Aassi (Union of French Muslim Democrats), Pascale Rougée ( Lutte Ouvrière), Virginie Chauchoy (Animalist Party), Rudy Elegeest (Ensemble), Philippe Guérard (RN) and Marie Savage (SE).
