On this basis, the heads of state and government will discuss this issue at the EU summit on June 23-24," TASS quoted him as saying.
Members of the European Parliament earlier called on the European Commission and the Council of the EU to grant Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership.
At the same time, Italy said that most countries are against such a decision.
The French Foreign Ministry also did not rule out that Ukraine's accession to the EU could take up to 20 years.
