France: retirement home giant Korian targeted by complaints from families of residents

In France, a new global giant of retirement homes is in the sights of justice.

After Orpea, it is Korian, the French leader, who faces a series of complaints.

It is a collective action of families of elderly people, accommodated in several of its establishments.

The lawyer for the families filed 30 complaints on Tuesday with several courts: Bobigny, La Rochelle and even Marseille for endangering the lives of others, failure to assist a person in danger or intentional homicide.

the investigation by journalist Victor Castanet by whom the scandal broke last January, that the relatives of 18 residents approached Me Saldmann. 

This same lawyer had filed in April nearly 80 complaints against Orpea, another giant of retirement homes, before the parquet floor of Nanterre, in the Paris region for similar acts of mistreatment.

Korian says it ignores the content of the complaints

The Korian group, which only communicates through its lawyer, says it ignores the content of the complaints.

Master Daoud is also surprised that his colleague has not contacted the company beforehand, stressing that in each establishment, there is a procedure allowing the family to dialogue with the management of Ephad.

Even before this collective action, the Korian group had been singled out in early March by the television program “Cash Investigation”.

Immediately, the stock fell on the stock market.

At midday this Wednesday, in Paris, it again tumbled by more than 8%.
