China News Service, June 8th. According to a comprehensive report by Canada's "Sing Tao Daily", the Canadian Federal Ministry of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship announced on the 7th that it will extend the "super visa" stay period from July 4th, and you can live in one continuous stay at most. 7 years.

Currently super visa holders can stay in Canada for up to 2 years per entry.

Starting July 4, two new rules will make it easier for parents and grandparents to reunite in Canada and reduce the burden on insurance.

The new regulations are as follows:

Extend the length of stay for super visa holders to 5 years per entry to Canada, while current super visa holders also have the option to extend their stay in Canada for up to 2 years at a time.

This means that current super visa holders can stay in Canada for up to seven years.

Open International Health Insurance Company to provide coverage for prospective super visa applicants.

Currently, only Canadian insurers can provide the medical insurance that super visa applicants must have, and information on any future designated medical insurers outside of Canada will be published on the IRCC website at a later date.

Launched in 2011, the Super Visa program allows parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents to visit the country on a long-term basis.

The super visa is valid for up to 10 years and can be entered multiple times. Originally, it can only stay for a maximum of 2 years at a time.

The length of stay on a regular Canadian visitor visa is usually 6 months or less.

Canada issues approximately 17,000 super visas each year.

Sponsoring their children or grandchildren must meet minimum income requirements, and applicants must also pass a medical examination and provide proof of private health insurance.

Under the new policy, the authorities will open up the market for international health insurance companies, so applicants will have more insurance companies to choose from.

While these changes are good news for many eager to reunite with their loved ones overseas, it may actually take months or more to obtain a super visa, given the current large immigration application backlog, which results in lengthy visa processing times and immigration Ministry officials are struggling to process more than 2 million application documents.

Based on current processing times, applicants living in China have a processing time of at least 153 days to apply for a super visa; 146 days if they are in India; and up to 458 days if they are applying from the US .

Federal Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Fraser said that improving the super visa program will help Canadian citizens and permanent residents to contribute to society, but also to share family.

Federal Public Safety Minister Ma Shounuo said that family reunification is a priority for the federal government, allowing citizens to reconnect with their loved ones as the epidemic recovers and strengthen the country as a whole.
