His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, received yesterday the Emirati physicist Ahmed Eid Al Muhairi, one of the most prominent international scientists in the field of theoretical physics research, due to his multiple scientific contributions and his various researches that dealt with a group of phenomena, the most important of which are black holes in space.

His Highness also received the student Khamis Al-Junaibi, who won first place in the International Mathematical Olympiad, which was held in Sharm El-Sheikh in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

During the meeting, which took place at the Qasr Al Bahr Majlis, His Highness welcomed the scientist Ahmed Al Muhairi, wishing him success in his field to contribute to sciences that serve the future and progress of humanity. Al Muhairi received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California in the United States, while he received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto in the Engineering Science program - specializing in Physics, and the award for the best doctoral thesis at the University of California in the field of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering.

The Emirati scientist devotes his time to physical research and has completed research that has been cited more than 1,500 times by other researchers around the world.

Ahmed Al-Muhairi and his team of four scientists won the New Horizons Prize in 2020, thanks to his discovery of the quantum information content of the black hole and its radiation, while the award focuses on honoring transformative discoveries in life sciences, physics and mathematics.
